This year, like most years, I’m struggling to figure out the perfect Christmas gift for my husband. He’s a bit hard to shop for. He has high standards and usually high price points for things he wants, and during the year usually buys what he wants/needs whenever he needs/wants it. He also has high standards as to what qualifies as a gift. He doesn’t often see things that he “needs” as gifts, or at least not good ones.
Thankfully, I don’t consider stocking stuffers for him as stressful to figure out as they don’t have to fit his high caliber of what qualifies as a gift and what doesn’t because they aren’t really “the big gifts,” if you know what I mean. It’s much more acceptable to have stocking stuffers be small need items, rather than small want items.
When it comes to stocking stuffers, I adhere to traditional stocking stuffers. I’ve seen some crazy stocking stuffer lists out there for kids and adults that contain items that would never fit in a stocking or are crazy expensive and, in my opinion, belong under the Christmas tree!
No, I like to keep things practical and traditional. There’s no need to go fancy or spend money on stuff that while it may be “funny” or “unique” or even somewhat cool but will not be used past a week and end up sitting on a shelf or in a drawer somewhere. I abhor spending money on gifts that will go unused – to me those make for lousy gifts!
And that’s why I stick to minimalist stocking stuffers for men, kids, and myself.
If you’re looking for more creative stocking stuffers for guys then this may not be the best list for you.
If you want gifts your man will use and love, this is a great place to start.
Traditional Stocking Stuffers for Men
Personal Care Stocking Stuffers for Men Ideas
My husband is not one for receiving personal care products for gifting occasions, so I try to limit these in the stockings, but I still give some anyway, because it just makes sense and are so easy to grab!
This year as I was shopping at Walmart I came across two different gift packs that I thought my husband would enjoy. The first one is this great Gillette Justice League Gift Pack featuring Batman for $14.88 at Walmart. My husband already uses Gillette razors, shave gel and deodorant so it was an easy one for me to pick up. Plus, it’s a great deal!
And I also saw the classic Old Spice Swagger Gift of Confidence Gift Pack for $9.88 at Walmart. My husband uses Old Spice deodorant often too (he switches up what he uses regularly) so it was a smart one to grab too as it is also a good deal. Both sets include body wash, deodorant, and other personal care items like razors and shave gel.
Car Care Stocking Stuffers for Men Ideas
My husband really likes having a clean car, inside and out. He regularly takes the car to the car wash, even though I have figured out a way to wash our car in an apartment without water. But, I have to make the time to actually do that! I don’t like how expensive these can be over the course of the year, which is why it can be smart to take advantage of discounts or promos for the following and gift them to him in his stocking!
- Car Wipes
- Car Fresheners
- Gas Gift Cards
- Car Wash Gift Certificates
Outdoor-Loving Stocking Stuffers for Men Ideas
If the guy you’re giving to really likes the outdoors, hunting, camping, sports, working with tools, and so on, think about the following stocking stuffers for him!
- Tactical Flashlight
- Ammo (see my gift guide for gun owners for more ideas!)
- Flex Grip Work Gloves
- Hand Warmers
- Grilling Tools and Supplies – Spatulas, Seasoning, etc.
- Small Hand Tools
Gadget and Electronic Loving Stocking Stuffers for Men Ideas
A lot of guys I know like their electronic toys and gadgets, my husband included. It can be fun to give stocking stuffers for him that he needs and/or would like as a little upgrade or to make his electronic use even easier or better.
- Attachable Phone Camera Lens
- Phone Case or other Phone Accessory
- Portable Phone Chargers
- Car Chargers
- WiFi Extenders
- USB Wall Outlet Plugs
Clothing Stocking Stuffers for Men Ideas
My husband isn’t huge on receiving clothes as gifts, but if yours doesn’t mind, I think the following are pretty easy and simple stocking stuffers for guys:
- Collar Stays
- Shoe Polish and Cloth
Monetary Value Stocking Stuffers Ideas for Him
And sometimes giving your man money is perhaps the best way to go! They can spend the money on things they already use and can buy what they really want, when they want, during the year, without taking a hit to the budget perhaps. Plus, at Christmastime there are many stores and sales on Gift cards, tickets, and other things that it makes it a great way to save money.
- Gift Cards – music, restaurants
- Tickets – Movies/Concert
- Wallet/Money Clip
- Lottery Tickets
Food Stocking Stuffers Ideas for Him
I always put in an orange and some little candies but think a few other little treats would be great too!
- Beef Jerky
- Specialty Popcorn
- His Favorite Candy
Other Stocking Stuffers for Men Ideas
And lastly, here are couple more ideas I had that didn’t quite fit into the categories above:
- Christmas Ornament
- Fancy Pens
I hope this list helped you finalize some last minute stocking stuffers for men ideas! Even if your man is happy to receive anything and isn’t quite as picky as mine, I hope he’ll still find high-value and use out of the items I listed!
