This post about how to clean a bathtub was sponsored by Mr. Clean thanks to iConnect. All opinions and love of cleanliness are my own.
When we moved into our apartment the bathtub was a not very clean bathtub, and proved difficult to get sparkling. I am gonna assume one of the previous tenants had a bathmat they used, which had lots of little circle disks underneath it, which has damaged the tub and left light little circles that prove hard to get pearly white again. The joys of apartment living.
My husband has used various products, as have I, hoping we’ll get a sparkling clean bathtub yet.
My latest product to wage war against the grime bathtub was a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.I have used Magic Erasers around my home, mainly for removing crayon, pen, pencil, and dirt marks from my walls, door frames, and doors. I honestly haven’t used them for much else around my house.
Until now.
I hate cleaning the bathrooms, especially the bathtub. I hate how you need to practically get into it, or learn over it to clean it, which hurts my back. And then there is the rinsing with the shower head and/or cup, which sprays water all over myself and my otherwise cleaned bathroom.
No thank you!
How to Clean a Bathtub with Magic Erasers

But, now I have found my solution – Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. To use, simply wet, wring, and clean. The little nubby part on the Extra Power ones really help you scrub away dirt. Those dirty little circles from Previous Tenant are the brightest and whitest we’ve ever seen them!
And you know those dirty little marks you often get on the edges of your tub? Came off with a few easy wipes. The only thing I still couldn’t seem to remove 100% were the hard water/scum build-up at the front of the tub. But, they still became less noticeable.
P.S. I am sorry that my pictures don’t do it justice. Have you ever tried taking photos in a bathroom? The lighting is terrible, and our tub and tile are all white which is very hard to photograph. No, it’s not 100% white, but it is the most beautiful tub we’ve ever had! And it was so easy to clean.
I didn’t have to rinse the tub, and it even works on the tile and grout around the tub too. I am totally sold. Since it’s not a harsh chemical, my kids can use them to clean their bathrooms/tub (it’s one of their weekly chores). I also used it on my shower rod, which was in a desperate need of wiping:

Easy Off oven cleaner is the only thing that finally cleaned my shower pan after years of trying different things. I have found Tilex to work wonders on the bathroom grout – just spray and walk away – then rinse. Make sure to purchase the regular Tilex and not the Daily Shower spray.

The one thing that is NOT my favorite to clean is my garden tub & mirrors in the back. I’m short 5’1 1/2, and trying to get to the back is brutal on my back. It’s something that has to be done, so I got to do it. I need a extender so I don’t have to lean so much and scrub scrub scrub?
