So, we’re back!
We had a great trip and I will let the pictures tell most of the story, but let me give a quick overview of what we did. On Friday the 26th of June we got up really early and caught a flight out to the Cincinnati airport (CVG) where my mom picked Kate and I up and brought us back to Batesville, IN. We spent the night there and then got up very early again on Saturday and drove out to Baltimore, MD. We spent the night in downtown Baltimore and caught an Orioles game at Camden Yards. Sunday morning we got up really early yet again and picked up my Grandmother Doris and drove down to Chincoteague, VA. It’s a small island off the coast of the Delaware/Maryland/Virginia peninsula just on the outside of the Chesapeake Bay. We got to the house and it was beautiful, we had a gorgeous view of the Chincoteague Bay (the area between the island and the mainland). We got what I think was the master bedroom… how that worked out I have no idea, but it was great. We were on the second floor in a room with a nice vaulted ceiling and our own deck and bathroom. In fact we not only had our own bathroom, but we had our own personal outdoor shower as well on the deck. The views were great. Thanks Mom and Dad!! We love you guys so much!
Monday through Thursday went as follows:
We would wake up whenever we wanted (look at all those W’s) and eat some breakfast. We biked a couple of times and went to the beach every day! We would usually spend between 2 and 3 hours at the beach and then come back and shower up and just kick it around the house. We did go mini-golfing on Monday and I got EATEN ALIVE! We then would eat some dinner or something… anyway we took it easy and had a ton of fun.
Friday we went to the beach but not for too long because we then had our reception that evening. It was fun to do and almost all of my extended family was there as well. Saturday we skipped the beach because it was the 4th and we got up too late to make it there without having to wait in the car for over an hour to get a parking space so we hung out with my parents. We saw five different sets of fireworks from our back deck and out on the dock; beautiful!
Sunday I got up early and packed us and then we drove home with a minor diversion through downtown D.C. which was kind of neat. Monday we hung out in Batesville (I got to drive a 911) and then caught a plane home.
