Man am I glad today is Friday! This week has been very busy for me and for Josh. On Sunday I finally got a calling at church after being in our ward for 3 months! I’m now a Family Search Indexer, which was just fine with me since I had indexed a LOT of names the week before, so it wasn’t much of a surprise, and not that much of a challenge. Our stake has a goal of indexing a million names in a year, and there’s only like 3 months left and about 647,000 names done… so each ward needs to step up a lot in the next few months. I index everyday, usually at least three batches (about 40 names each).
Monday night I studied and Josh worked out with his friends. So he got home later and we had a quick FHE (based on the materials I was studying).
I was busy Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon with taking photos for my photography class, and just got my slides today; but, they were due in class on Thursday, but luckily my teacher understood, and I was not the only one who didn’t have my slides. It wasn’t really my fault. I turned them in around 1 o’clock, but the guy was gone for the day and wouldn’t be done until the next day. My teacher said that the guy was usually there in the afternoon too. Plus, I had to take off of work 3 hours early just to finish off my roll and turn my film in. Josh was sweet and helped me figure out how to use his camera. I’m glad he had a film SLR camera and I didn’t have to rent one (though it’s like a $1.50/day to do so).
On Tuesday we also put our Tahoe back into the shop… We had it in about a month ago to fix several things (costing us too much…) and they put something in wrong or something, so the 4-wheel drive wasn’t working properly, but luckily it should be covered in the warranty. So, we shouldn’t have to pay anything I hope! We get it back today. Because we didn’t have a car, Josh couldn’t get to the temple on Thursday night. He’s been having to ride the bus for almost an hour to get to school/work too. Not having a car is inconvenient.
Wednesday night I went to Evening for Educators, a little workshop for art educators. It was at the Springville Art Museum and was all about clothing and fabric in the classroom. It was interesting. My teacher Dan Barney presented, so I had already heard all of it pretty much.
Also this week I had to study and take my religion exam for LDS Marriage and Family. I took that test yesterday, the last day I could take it, and I had to pay the $5.00 late fee. Lame, but it’s really the only time I had.
But, today is FRIDAY! I went to Timpanagos High School and observed a ceramics class for an hour and a half. It was pretty cool. The teacher even let me and my teammates play with some clay. I really hope to work at a good school with a large, comprehensive art program like this school. And, I still am unsure how I feel about block schedules.
Tonight we’re going out to eat at a new Italian restaurant, Gloria’s Little Italy. I hope it’s good. We’ll probably get some movies and do laundry.
