Well, we definitely had an interesting weekend with the girls. In our previous post you got to see their racing endeavors, in this post we’re going in depth, perhaps too in depth.
Our girls are growing up so quickly now what with taking their first steps, and of course the plethora of teeth that they both have. The score is currently Lisa 2 and Alison 3. Lisa just cut her second one this weekend, just a week after she cut her first. We were wondering for quite a while when she would finally start getting her teeth, but now that she’s getting them they are coming in quickly. Alison is finding new interesting ways to use her teeth. Some of her favorite uses are to bit toes, stomachs, and of course her crib. There are teeth marks all over her crib on the side closest to her sisters crib. They typically stand and “talk” to each other after their naps are over — though sometimes I wonder if their naps ever actually start as Lisa is soooo bad at napping now.
Speaking of napping and cribs. This Sunday we walked up stairs to check on the screams and cries coming from their room after they had been napping for about 20-minutes only to be given a true surprise. I walked into the room to see a naked Alison dancing in her crib covered in her own poo. It was funny, it was gross, it was smelly, and it was everywhere!! I did not think that so much poo could come from such a small baby. Needless to say there was a lot of washing of baby, crib, sheets, and mattress covers. We used paper towels, and disinfecting wipes on the crib and ran the sheets through the washer a couple of times. Of course, as I was cleaning I picked up the diaper Ali was supposed to be wearing to find that it was the only thing close to her crib that did not have poo on it. The pictures can speak for themselves…
Other than the humor of it all, the big plus was that we needed to lower Alison’s crib and finally had it so that it would be an easy adjustment with the mattress and sheets out. In our family prayers Sunday evening Katelyn expressed her thanks that “poop is just poop.” What a weekend, what a family!
