Anyways, Josh was downtrodden during the week and this Saturday buried him in even more work. He woke up before 6am on Saturday to go to a Forensics meet, where he judged Congress for 7 hours straight. He didn’t get home until about 4 or 5 PM and then had to leave to go announce for a basketball game. And of course it went into overtime, so he wasn’t home until 10PM, which is finally when I got to see him since I had a busy day babysitting for 8 hours for 3 kids, ages 11,9, and 6, while their parents went to the temple. My girls were the worst of the experience since we only had one pack n’ play, making my girls take opposite naps, which was taxing on me and them. Plus, I had to be extra vigilant in watching my girls to make sure they weren’t going to eat something off the floor or go up/down stairs. It was tiring, but the couple invited me to eat dinner, and then took me home. My girls were SO tired by the time they got home they went straight to bed.
Sunday did not help the girls’ sleeping schedule since we had church, and had to be their early to meet with a member of the stake presidency because… Josh got a calling to be the 2nd Counselor in the Elder’s Quorum. The old EQP is leaving for a job in Texas at the beginning of March, which stinks since we really enjoyed him and his family and they’ve helped us out a ton these last several months (it was at his house I used to do laundry, and they’ve given us rides and all sorts of other help). We now know why Josh has had such a rough last few days… because he was going to get a calling. It happens every time, without fail, that he’ll have a rough week before he’s asked to serve in a calling. Now it all makes sense. So, Josh will be even busier with this new calling at church, but we know it will bring many more blessings and opportunities for him and for us. The good thing is that he’s done with basketball announcing and Forensics is almost over.
Life is going well for us, and we’re anxiously awaiting our tax returns! This week Angel Turner from church came over and cut my hair! I was so done with my long, bangless hair that had lost its curl and thickness from pregnancy and postpartum and wanted to feel pretty again… so this is what she did:
It looks so much darker! Though I’m thinking about getting highlights or something, but I don’t know yet. What do you think?
Also this week, we had Valentine’s Day and Josh made me a homemade rendition of a chicken classic (essentially what we would’ve ordered if we were able to go out to eat).
It was very yummy, especially the mushrooms, and creative and took a lot of time and effort. What a sweet husband I have!! We also were given a free helium Valentine’s Day balloon the day after Valentine’s at the grocery store for our girls and they have loved playing with it (you can see it the background of the haircut picture).
Alison slowly but surely is taking some steps on her own! She’s also getting close to getting another tooth (or two!). But because of that has been extra crabby.
