In exchange for writing this post, I will receive two complimentary tickets to the Preview Night. All opinions are 100% my own.
I majored in Visual Arts: Studio Arts at Brigham Young University. I took several art history classes, art education classes, and studio art classes that had me using all sorts of new mediums. I am a fine artist drawer, with charcoal and graphite as my mediums of choice. I do however enjoy working in oil paints as well, though I am not as strong or confident in it. But, one thing is for sure, I enjoy looking at all types of art! That’s why I am excited about the Indiana State Museum’s upcoming 11th Annual Indiana Art Fair Preview Night on Valentine’s Day!
The Eleventh Annual Indiana Art Fair will be showcasing and selling the work of 62 Indiana artists, representing 21 counties, whose work covers 12 different mediums of art, including ceramics, drawing, fiber-wearable, fiber-decorative, glass, jewelry, leather, mixed media, painting, photography, recycled art, and wood. You can preview some of the artists and their work at the Indiana Art Fair’s Facebook page. Even though I don’t have the expendable income to buy much of anything, I love looking and supporting local artists, and seeing their awesome crafts and talents! I always leave being inspired by something I see!The Indiana State Museum is doing a special Valentine’s Preview Night of the 11th Annual Indiana Art Fair on February 14, 2014. The evening will consist of art, music, food and drink! Enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, beer, and wine while perusing the fine, functional, and funky art. (We’ll be drinking water). You can also choose to celebrate V-Day in the L.S. Ayres Tea Room at the Indiana State Museum, which will be an all-inclusive Valentine’s dinner for two, with champagne, and admission to the Art Fair for $120 a couple. Plus, your admission to the Friday evening preview can be redeemed for free admission to the Indiana Art Fair on Saturday, February 15 (in case you need a night to sleep on it!).
Tickets to the Art Fair Preview Night are $25 for non-members; $20 for members. The Preview Night runs from 5:30PM-8PM. If you can’t make it on Valentine’s Day, though, you can check out the Indiana Art Fair on Saturday from 10AM-5PM and the cost will be included with museum admission ($10 adults, $9 seniors aged 60+, $5.50 child aged 3-12).
When was the last time you checked out some local artists’ work? Do you enjoy going to art fairs? Have you ever been to the Indiana Art Fair?

Fun! I love going to see local artists! We have a huge art piece on our wall we bought that has 25 squares, each from a local artist and it’s a showpiece. People are always commenting on it. I hope you have fun and find something!
