If you know me, you know that I eat a lot of cereal. I pretty much eat a bowl of cold cereal with milk every morning unless we are out of milk. And sometimes I also have cereal for a snack, or for lunch, or for dinner. I love cereal and so do my kids. And I don’t think that will change anytime soon. So, if you are like me (or your kids are), then you should really think about ways to not only save money on cereal, but get rewarded for eating cereal too.
Enter Kellogg’s Family Rewards program where you can get exclusive coupons and earn rewards from your favorite Kellogg’s® brands. All you have to do is sign up and enter the reward codes found on Kellogg’s brand products (which is more than just cereal) online at Kellogg’s Family Rewards. They send out emails for exclusive coupons for their products (yeah to saving money!) as well as announcements about any other promotions they have going on, which are frequent. Some of the promotions are for extra or double points on certain products or codes entered.
So, what I do, is make a pile of my clipped codes and when they have a special promotion going on, I enter several of them all at once so I can take advantage of the extra points.
I’ve been a member of Kellogg’s Family Rewards program for a couple years now (I checked – looks like I signed up August 26, 2012 and entered my first code in November 2012). I have earned 21,158 points throughout that time. I haven’t actually redeemed most of the points, mostly because I’m saving it up for a really great prize.
But, a simple reward is printing off high value coupons! I took advantage of a discount promotion they had a long time ago where $1.50 off any one cereal coupons were only 100 points! Essentially by buying a box of cereal (since most cereals are 100-150 points) I was getting another box of cereal for free or almost free. I printed off the max allowed. I think I’ve been waiting for that promotion to come back again, but it hasn’t (and might not). Those coupons are usually 1000 points.
Other common redeemable rewards are Shutterfly photo prints, cereal bowls, books, games, sweepstakes entries, digital downloads, blankets, grocery totes, gift cards, cookbooks, key chains, magazine subscriptions, water bottles, kitchen utensils and gadgets, hats, and more! Another great thing about Kellogg’s Family Rewards is the free stuff! Often certain codes give you access to special promotions, like free movie tickets, free books, or free music, all of which our family has taken advantage of. Just make sure to buy enough of specially marked promotional items, like the Spider-Man Movie tickets boxes currently on shelves. We’re on our way to redeeming two $12 movie tickets (that’s 12 promotional codes or 12 boxes of marked cereal boxes) right now thanks to the new promotion. And, no, we won’t have to see Spider-Man. The vouchers are good until the end of the year for any movie in theaters!
Because of Kellogg’s Family Rewards we were able to see Disney’s Frozen in the theater as a family for FREE last year! And, I didn’t have to use any of my rewards points in order to do so! The special codes add up as their own separate rewards program. Thanks Kellogg’s for paying for our family to go to the movies, get new books, and download songs.
