So, shortly after we took our girls miniature golfing for the first time, we took them bowling for the first time. And the better of the two activities? Bowling. Hands down. Our girls loved bowling! At the beginning of the summer we had signed up our girls at kidsbowlfree.com where, you guessed it, kids can get coupons for 2 free games of bowling every day of the summer at a local bowling alley. Only certain bowling alleys participate, but we were lucky to find one close. Though the games are free, you still need to pay for the shoe rental. However, since our girls feet were too small for the size 8 shoes, they let them just wear socks on the lanes. Saved us a couple of bucks! Yeah!
So, for our first bowling trip we went to Expo Bowl, part of Royal Pin Lanes, right next to Great Times (where we went mini golfing). Thankfully they are a smoke-free bowling alley! Though it ended up being pricier than the $5.25 for the mini golf, ($14.90 for one game each plus shoe rental for Josh and I). But, I realized later that we could’ve saved some money if we went earlier in the day or during the week or both (oops!). We went on a Saturday evening. No luck saving money there!
Anyways, on to our fun!
The girls loved carrying the balls to the lane, and Dad or Mom would sometimes help them. We would definitely help by pushing their balls faster down the lane, otherwise we would still be waiting for that ball to get to the end!:
And the girls did pretty well for their first attempt! I mean Ali almost beat my score! But, I had a lousy game. Josh didn’t do too bad though and only used the bumpers once or twice.
We asked the people next to us to take a family photo of us to remember our first family bowling experience. (This is the best photo we got):
And to prove I was also there, I got Josh to take a picture of me sporting my blue-colored bowling ball bump. The color of the ball matched my shirt. I didn’t even notice until now.
