Happy Spring Cleaning!
With extra time at home right now, Spring 2020, due to the outbreak of a certain virus and health precautions going into heavy effect, you have time to clean!
I thought it would be fun to encourage you to deep clean your house by doing a fun weekly cleaning challenge, or game, for which you can be rewarded for participating!
Hate cleaning but love a clean house? Pick up this printable Spring Cleaning Bundle and you'll be able to clean it all without feeling overwhelmed!
I wish I could say this idea was my own, but I was inspired by the amazing Emily of Happy Organized Life and her Decluttering Bingo that she does with her Declutterathon Facebook group.
I don’t share or talk much on my blog about decluttering (though I do declutter often), but I do talk a lot about cleaning things around the house, so I adapted her challenge into my own, and I hope you’ll participate and share this with your friends.
Here’s how Cleaning Bingo works:
Every week for the next few weeks (hopefully as long as we are all on house-arrest, or suggested social distancing) I will create a new bingo card that has a variety of different cleaning tasks and activities designed to help you clean your home!
If you complete five tasks in a row on that week’s bingo card (across, down, or diagonally), you’ve got Bingo and a cleaner house!
Cleaning Bingo Giveaway
To incentive you into participating in this challenge, game, whatever you want to call it, I am going to host weekly giveaways!
The giveaway winnings will include some of my favorite cleaning supplies, a copy of my cleaning ebook Speed Cleaning the Deep Clean: A Collection of Time-Saving Cleaning Tutorials and Tips for Moms, and a $5 Amazon gift card too.
It’s optional to participate in the game and giveaway aspect of the challenge. You are always welcome to do it on your own, with your family or roommates for your own rewards, etc.
How to Enter the Cleaning Bingo Giveaway
In order to enter, you have to get bingo on your cleaning bingo card! This means you must complete all the five tasks in a given row.
Plus, the more bingos you get on a single card, the more entries you get into that week’s drawings! If you complete ALL tasks on the week’s bingo card, you get 12 entries!
You have one week to get a bingo on that card before a new bingo card will go up here on this post, and on my social media accounts:
- Raising Great Kids & Staying Sane with What’s up Fagans? Facebook Page
- Wannabe Neat Freaks Facebook group
- @whatsupfagans Instagram account
New cleaning Bingo cards will go up Saturday mornings for the next week (except this week, it’s going up right now – Monday).
You must submit your completed cleaning bingo cards from the week by Sunday evening of the following week (you can submit any time before then).
Here’s how to submit your Bingo Card for an official entry into that week’s giveaway drawing (pick any one):
- Join the Wannabe Neat Freaks Facebook group, and leave a comment with the picture of your complete cleaning bingo board game in my post about the giveaway.
- Post a picture of your bingo card on Instagram, either in your stories or your feed (must be public profiles then), with the hashtag #cleaningbingo and tag me @whatsupfagans.
- Email me at [email protected] with “Cleaning Bingo Card” in the subject line along with an attached picture of your completed card.
Do not submit all three places. ONLY ONE. Pick the one method that’s most convenient to you.
I need a picture in order to tally up the number of bingos you completed, so you can get that many entries, as well as helps me see which cleaning tasks people are or aren’t completed, so I can adjust the bingo card for the next week.
Winners will be announced in my Facebook group, and on Instagram Stories, as well as the weekly newsletter by Wednesday of the next week.
You can play along, or do it yourself, by downloading this week’s cleaning bingo by signing up for my email list below (so you’ll be the first to know about the next week’s challenge, as well as additional cleaning tips and tricks from yours truly).
Or you can just download it by clicking the image below and saving it to your computer or phone, no email required. (It will be different than shown as it’s now week #2).
Please, please share this blog post and this challenge with your friends and family!
Have fun doing it together, especially at this time that you can’t physically be together. Make up your own prizes among your friends for who completes the most.
Have fun and I hope this cleaning bingo helps you get cleaning and organizing
