Have fun decorating your home with Christmas card holders and all the cute and beautiful Christmas cards family and friends send you this year. I’ve collected the very best options of Christmas card holders – trees, snowflakes, reindeer, wire, metal, wreath, wood, angel, and more! Enjoy shopping!
Tis the season for sending Christmas cards and cute pictures of your kids to friends and relatives!
Let’s hope yours turn out slightly better than that! (If not, hit up these tips for good family photos!)
I always love receiving Christmas cards in the mail and am thankful people still participate in this somewhat antiquated tradition, though mostly it’s just a picture and no Christmas letter. I’m happy either way! I enjoy getting mail from friends and family far away.
Plus, it can be fun after the holidays to recycle Christmas cards into things like Christmas gift tags from cards, miniature Christmas village, DIY Christmas gift box from a card, 3-D geometric ornament, or a photo Christmas card ornament.
Long before I think about reusing them, I think about how I am going to display all these wonderful Christmas cards in my home. I’m never really sure where to put them! The fridge is one spot, but I don’t always love a cluttered fridge or extra magnets about.
Growing up, Katelyn’s family just tapped them around an extra-wide doorway/entryway in her home.
And there’s nothing wrong with either of those. I just like knowing what all my options are. I think you do too!
Now that Christmas is fast approaching, I wanted to share a few of the very best Christmas card holders! Now you can hang up your Christmas cards from friends and family in so many ways no matter how small of a space you have.
Christmas Card Holders
There are so many different and cute and practical and pretty Christmas cards holders. I tried to find some different options in different shapes and usage so you can find the perfect Christmas card holder for your home or office.
Christmas Tree Card Holder
I also really like this gold metal standing Christmas tree card holder that holds up to 40 cards.
Definitely more unique, and smaller, holding only a few cards or other objects is this metal wire Christmas card holder tree.
This round 3-D St. Nicholas Tree Christmas Card Holder is beautiful as Christmas decor in its own right! You can pick it up from Kohl’s.
There’s also this umbra Christmas tree card holder that can sit on your desktop or table for a fun holder option.
I think standing Christmas tree card holder looks really pretty and even boasts it can fit up to 100 Christmas cards! However, it doesn’t have raving reviews on Amazon.
Snowflake Card Holder
Everything from Pottery Barn is gorgeous, and this decorative snowflake cardholder is no exception. It’s $29 and would look stylish and beautiful on your wall.
Metal Garland Chain Christmas Card Holder
I love the Magnolia line at Target, and this garland chain is such a cute way to display Christmas cards! You can put it across your wall or string it along your mantle, next to your Christmas stocking holders. It’s only $9.99 and holds up to 12 Christmas cards.
Wreath Christmas Card Holders
This wire wreath card holder is great for hanging over the door, or on a nail from a wall. It’s $9.99 from The Container Store. Some customers did say that the wreath didn’t hold as many cards as they would’ve liked, so definitely double check the size to make sure it will work for you.
Rustic Wooden Christmas Card Holder
How cute is this? I absolutely love this Christmas Card holder from The Wooden Owl on Etsy. The sign comes in 3 different size options, and the hardware is included on the back so this sign can be hung or propped up. You can also add more clothespins to the sign if you need to! It’s a little pricier at around $45, but looks like it will hold up for many Christmas seasons.
Christmas Card Hanger
I found this Christmas card holder on Etsy from amandascreations05. I love the simplicity of the hanger, with the ribbon and the cute wooden sign. It’s only $27 and you can pick the kind of ribbon you want!
Star Christmas Card Holder
This card hanger from Amazon is not specifically just for Christmas cards. It could be used to hang Thank You cards, or wedding invites year-round. It’s made of tin and some reviewers said they hung it vertically, others horizontally.
Angel Christmas Card Holder
I love seeing angels everywhere around Christmas time. This Angel Christmas Card Holder is from ReFeatherYourNest on Etsy for $25. It’s made of painted metal.
Pegs and String Christmas Card Holder
Looking for a cheap and easy way to hang your Christmas cards? You can buy these 24 gold Christmas Card Holder Pegs and 3M of string off Amazon for only a few dolalrs! You can string the cards wherever you like around your home or office.
Free Standing Snowman Christmas Card Holder
Don’t want to poke any holes in your wall? This snowman from WalMart is free standing and costs about $30 after shipping. He can “chill” in the corner and display your festive Christmas cards.
Reindeer Christmas Card Holder
Ok, how adorable is this reindeer Christmas card holder? I love that he lights up, too! You can get him from Pier 1 for $34.99 as a great addition to your holiday decor.
If you are looking for a vintage wooden reindeer Christmas card holder, check out Etsy.
Over the Door Christmas Card Holder
If you want to hang your cards over the door to see every time you go in and out of your house or open your pantry, I really love this snowman one! Simple, easy, and holds a ton of cards! They also sell a snowflake, and Santa version too!
Light String Christmas Card Holder
One of the best things about Christmas time is looking at all the lights. Why not add even more holiday cheer to your home and display your Christmas cards with these cute stringed clear LED photo clips? Plus, it comes with 40 LED clips!
Want a cute and festive Christmas Card holder that features Santa? Then this cute Santa Christmas Card Garland from JoyousReflection on Etsy is perfect. It’s $15 and can hold up to 15 Christmas cards.
DIY Christmas Card Holder
A couple of years ago, Katelyn decided to make her own photo hanging picture frame, and has an awesome post and tutorial on it that you can read here if you decide to go that route. Making your own Christmas Card Holder is a great way to save money and personalize your display.
I absolutely love this DIY Christmas Card Holder from Refresh Living. It’s super easy to make, and I like that you can light it up with a string of Christmas lights. For the full tutorial, click here.

Quilted Christmas Card Holder Patterns
My great-grandmother always displayed her Christmas cards in a quilted holder like the one pictured above. It may be tricky to find patterns for these at JoAnn’s or Hobby Lobby, since I don’t know that many people who make them anymore. You can buy this pattern from Amazon if you want to make your own.
It’s so fun and festive to decorate your home for Christmas, and there’s no better way to feel the love of your friends and family than with one of these Christmas card holders! Hope you found one you liked!
