Josh and I decided to keep things simple for their birthday, and Josh was busy this weekend because he had to work on a Saturday! I never thought a school could make students actually go to school on a Saturday, but they did it yesterday, and will be doing it again in a few weeks. Also, Josh is now the JV Baseball Team’s Assistant Coach! How cool is that? He loves baseball SO much and really wanted to get into coaching so it’s a great fit! Oh, and it’s also some extra money which will be nice too.
Anyways, we got the girls a cake from the store, sang them “Happy Birthday” and let them eat cake! But, first we took off all their clothes… and afterward we bathed them and scrubbed the kitchen. They only turn one once right?
For their birthday we got them a bunch of new clothes since they are finally ready for size 12 month clothes as well as short-sleeves and shorts! We also got them two balls, one yellow, and one pink for them to play with. They really like them and so do we!
We’ve also been working on getting our girls used to drinking from cups (we’ve been using our Born Free bottles with sippy tops instead of the nipples, but there are so many parts to clean, every single day, by hand, that we’re looking for some good, easy-to-hand wash sippy cup suggestions) and they like it and are slowly getting better at it, learning not to dump it on themselves, not to inhale the liquid and choke themselves, and not to backwash…
