Looking for cute modest swimsuits of 2019 that are great for moms? Here are great online stores that sell modest women’s swimsuits that are still very chic!
I live in Austin, Texas, so that means swimsuit season starts in April. No joke.
It can get up to 100 degrees toward the end of April, which means there’s nothing else to do to beat the heat but put on your swimsuit, take the kids to the pool, and jump in.
However, for the past three summers, I have either been pregnant or nursing for more than half the time, which makes it hard to justify buying a new suit.
This summer will be the first one where I can wear something other than my modest maternity swimsuit, so I wanted to check out all my options.
Now, there may be some mamas out there who are super fit and can jump into a bikini again after a
I prefer modest tankini swimsuits or modest one-piece swimsuits for a little extra coverage and for modesty’s sake.
The other day I figured I would get the opinion of some of my friends who are also moms to find out where they buy their cute modest swimsuits.
Several popular retailers were mentioned that supposedly carry decent modest swimsuits for moms:
I know that if I really wanted to, I could go into any one of those stores and try to find a cute modest swimsuit that I liked, but the only problem is I would have to take all three of my kids inside to shop around, and I know that’s not happening.
For example, scrolling through Target’s 2019 Swimsuits, I didn’t find many modest one-piece swimsuits as most either plunged too low in the neck or the back (or both) or had cut-outs or sheer panels or were barely covering the butt or hips.
The most modest one-piece swimsuits I find at Target are from brands like Aqua Green and Clean Water. There are a handful of other modest swimsuits from Kona Sol like this one and this one, and a few from Sea Angel like this one and this one, and a single long-sleeve one-piece from Joy Lab.
And most of them are black or may not be in stock in my size.
So much for Target doing it for me when it comes to modest women’s swimsuits (the other department stores listed above have a way bigger selection of modest swimwear, FYI).
So, I also got a few recommendations for more specialized modest swimsuit websites like:
I have found that I enjoy online shopping more and more since having multiple children, especially when there are so many great options online!
After browsing through multiple websites that were suggested to me, here are some of the best places where to buy cute modest swimsuits.
Best Modest Swimsuits for Moms of 2018
I am aware that everyone has different levels of modesty depending on religious, cultural, or comfort beliefs.
I tried to highlight swimsuits I felt weren’t too revealing in the chest (aka no deep V-necklines), the back (not so low in the back), as well as weren’t cut so high in the groin, in either front or back.
But, I sought to highlight cute and modest swimsuits that include modest one-piece swimsuits, modest tankini swimsuits, modest swimsuit tops, and modest swimsuit bottoms and even include plus size modest swimsuits!
And because I’m frugal, I included the costs of the swimsuits, highlighting some cheap modest swimsuits when I could find them.
1. Lands’ End Modest Swimsuits
I had a lot of people suggest Lands' End to me!
The main advantage of ordering a swimsuit from Lands' End is that everyone says they last forever. They’re not always the cheapest modest swimsuit initially, but everyone who commented said it was worth it for the quality!
The really cool thing about Lands’ End is they have some truly modest swimwear options, with loads of rash guard options, 9″ board shorts, and
You can also target problem areas that you want solutions for such as:
- Flatten tummy
- Full body slimming
- Minimize bust
- Enhance bust
- Conceal thighs
After having three kids, this is a pretty cool option! You can order your swimsuit in sizes regular, plus, petite, tall, and tall plus, and on most
Since I am fairly tall, I have a problem with tops being long enough for my long torso, so I love their extensive sizing and fit options!
I was also happy with all the different prints and designs available at Lands’ End. They have swimsuits in pretty much every color and style.
Bottoms are $34.95-$69.95, tankini tops are $59.95-$99.95, and modest one-piece bathing suits are $69.95-159.00.
Lands’ End offers great quality, variety, and very mom-friendly swimsuit, just a little bit on the expensive end. Thankfully they run sales A LOT so you don’t have to pay full price!
2. Hapari Modest Swimsuits
I had never heard of Hapari Swimwear before, but a friend suggested it, so I checked it out.
HAPARI’s line of modest tankini tops offers coverage to keep you comfortable and confident without sacrificing style.
Their tankinis include built-in features that shape, sculpt and support you in all the right places, and their durable premium fabric holds its shape while providing industry-leading protection from the sun.
Their tankini tops come in Classic Bandeau, Sport, Twist, Classic, V-Neck, Push-Up, etc in all their fun and different prints. The different neckline options are great as it allows you to get a top that fits your comfortability level.
They offer high-waisted bikini bottoms, bikini bottoms, boy shorts, and skirted swimsuit bottoms to pair with their tankini tops.
But, they only style of one-piece modest swimsuits.
Tankini tops are $69-109, bottoms are $29-49 and their one-piece is $109.
You can check out their full Hapari line.
A great place to find swimsuits for any occasion is the SwimOutlet.com!
They have swimsuits for all genders, ages, sizes, water athletics, and modesty levels! From full body-suits and modest Islamic swimsuits to fashionable and designer tankinis and one-pieces swimsuits, they have a large selection of options for everyone!
Swimsuits range from $45-168 or more. Definitely on the more expensive end for several of their suits, but they are very high-quality and they often run sales. Yeah!
You can see all the Swim Outlet modest swimsuits here.
4. DM Fashion Modest Swimsuits
DM Fashion is another website I had never heard of before, but definitely worth checking out!
A new look this summer seems to be this “peplum” tankini where the top flares out in a cute way to look really flirty and fun. I like this style because it’s different and it does something new with the basic tankini.A lot of Divinita Sole swimsuits are also ruched on the sides, which is instantly slimming and flattering.
These swimsuits can be summed up in one word: GIRLY.
I loved all the colors and all the different styles. You can do a halter, sport, ruffle, pretty much anything you want.
Tops are $79-$84, and all their high-waisted modest swim bottoms are all $36-40.
Their one pieces are $79-$109, so they aren’t charging you a bunch extra like some other websites do for a one piece.

5. DownEast Basics Modest Swimwear for Moms
The last swimsuit was from a store called DownEast Basics, which I absolutely loved.
I bought it in 2013. I liked the print, the length, (I’m 5’11”) and the way it hit me and covered up the areas I didn’t want to show
Since DownEast Basics is where I purchased my last swimsuit, I had to check them out this year to see what they had available.
Their selection is not extensive. This year they only 9 top or one-piece modest swimsuit designs! But what they do have is cute!
Here are their most modest options for 2019:
Their one-pieces are only $49.99! This is by far the cheapest price for a one-piece I found.
Their tankini tops are $39.99 and their bottoms are $22.99, which is pretty affordable.
I wish they had more selection though. However, I do know these swimsuits are high-quality because mine has lasted a long time, so I don’t think you have to worry about that even though the price is less!
You can check out their full stock here.
Honestly, I’ve found more and more great, affordable, modest swimwear out there the more I’ve looked!
Overall, the options for modest, cute, affordable swimwear for moms have really gone up since a few years ago. I remember shopping for a swimsuit as a teenager and not having near as many options as there are now.
The bottom line is, if you want a cute, modest swimsuit, you do have to pay a little bit more than you would at, say, Target, but you really do get what you pay for!
