Why Do Moms Obsess About this One Big Thing?

SUCH a great post on motherhood! Being a mom is hard and we really do need to stop obsessing about this one thing!

I wanted children long before my first child was born. I longed to be a mom, to experience motherhood. I dreamed about holding my baby in my arms. Like many moms, when my children were born, each birth event was photographed and I cried (a few) tears of joy. Every moment holding my precious new babies was captured in those first pictures, and there was joy and amazement seen in my eyes. When I took the baby home, and sunk into the reality of being a mom, I realized it is not all cute nursery decor and the smell of baby wash. There are tough days, days that challenge me beyond any job I have ever done before. Even today, after ...

The Key to Creating a Successful Stay At Home Schedule

This post likely contains affiliate links.

Yes! I couldn't agree more! The secret to a successful stay at home schedule really is sleep! I love all the supporting reasons she has for it, and even tips on how she's made it work with twins and a third child, all in the same room! Great parenting advice!

Today I am thrilled to be guest posting for my good friend Lauren of The Military Wife and Mom. Her blog is fantastic for new parents as well as those in the military! However, she really wanted to know how I created a successful stay at home schedule while I had multiple kids to manage. So, I wrote this guest post for her, sharing how the basic element, the key, to my good schedule all revolves around one simple thing.... When you have multiple young children at home, a good stay at home schedule is pretty important, at least if you want to have order and not lose your sanity.  This schedule will look different for every ...

How to Easily Remove Old Pee Stain and Smell from a Mattress

How to Remove Pee Stains from your mattress, and remove the smell!

There are many joys of parenting. One of those joys is not having to remove pee stains from a mattress, a mattress that had a waterproof mattress protector on it. One of my daughters, unfortunately, has an issue with wetting the bed at night. While she's been potty trained for over a year, and doesn't wet her bed every night, it's still regularly happening. Unfortunately this has led to urine stains on her mattress. Multiple urine stains that smell. The waterproof mattress protectors we placed under our daughter's sheets, failed. I think the heat from the dryer or their less than top-of-the-line materials, left them anything ...

Six Months Old and Adorable

6 months

My baby boy is six months old.  Half a year has already flown by.  And I can't believe how quickly it has gone!  When did half a year happen? When did Michael get so old? We had his 6 month appointment today and he was 19lbs 10 oz and 27.5" long. Michael is a big baby.  But, he's still just my sweet little babe.  He is "crawling" of sorts.  He scoots backwards well, roll all around the room, and has learned how to go forward by rocking from side to side and rolling around. He can't sit up by himself yet. He sometimes "talks," babbling "Dad, Dad, Dad" and "Ma Ma Ma" among other things, and generally does so at a loud volume, ...

1. Josh didn't have school on Monday due to Labor Day!  He only had one day of class this week, but had his first quiz and spent a lot of time working on it, and then was given his next quiz.  Oh, and he totally went biking five days this past week.  I think he's looking much slimmer!  He's lost 40+ lbs so far! And his calves look super sexy from all that biking he's been doing!  He's pretty much a stud.  And I love him. 2. On Monday, we hung out with our friends and cooked out in the backyard, played ladder ball, croquet, and talked.  It was a beautiful evening.  It would have been perfect except their bug spray seemed to have ...

I can't believe I haven't written anything else all week, but I've been lacking both inspiration on what to write about and motivation.  All well.1. Last Friday night we hung out with some friends and had a fire in their little fire pit and cooked "hobo dinners" or "tinfoil dinners."  It was Josh's first experience cooking and eating such a meal.  They turned out fairly well, though not our first choice of meals in the future.  I guess we can call this our "camping" for the year too.  We then enjoyed chatting while our kids played.  Yeah for friends!2. Sunday night Alison fell asleep on the way home from church at 4pm since she ...
